Back to Blogging: Minus The Clutter

Hello,

I’m back! My two-week blogging break [accidentally] turned into four… but it was much needed.

I spent two weeks in Sydney + on a cruise, + when I returned I had to catch up on my new course that started while I was gone. Life has once again resumed to normalcy + routine, but in a much simpler way.

On the cruise your days revolve around: sleeping, eating, reading, theatre shows, beaches, reading, eating, talking, eating, reading, sleeping, + more eating, sleeping + reading.

But it taught me a lot.

While there, you are forced to simply enjoy life. And as a result, you see life from an entirely new perspective. Here’s a little bit of this + that of what I did…

a digital detox does wonders for the soul

nature is awe-inspiring + ridiculously beautiful

simple is better

reading refreshes the mind

when people are relaxed + enjoying life, smiles + conversations with strangers abound

‘busy’ is the killer of life

when I get to my grave, I doubt my regret is going to be: “I wish I checked my [Facebook/Twitter/Pinterest/Email/Instagram] more” – so why am I spending so much time on it now?

the travel bug bites bad

holidays fill your mind with grand thoughts, ideas + dreams!

When I returned, I unpacked my suitcase + began spring cleaning my room. Boxes full of ‘clutter’ (old birthday cards, jewellery, clothes, high school books etc etc) left my room + entered the bin or became other people’s treasures.

The best part about it is that.. life feels lighter.

And I’ve totally realised that the profound is found in the simple… because, well, you can actually find it ;)

Have a brilliant week + I’ll write to you soon. Bethany, x
