Be Kind To Yourself

.“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.”
Henry James

Be kind to yourself.

Being kind to yourself means listening to your gut. Not every opportunity you’re presented with is a good opportunity. You know you’re capacity and how much you can handle. Just because you can do something doesn’t you should.

On the other hand, embracing opportunities means taking you outside of your comfort zone so you can grow and flourish and learn. Take the opportunities that make you scared. If you fail, you learn. If you succeed, you thrive.

Being kind to yourself means nourishing yourself — physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Eat well. Do well. Speak well. Sleep well. Push the limits. What you feed yourself is what fuels you.

Being kind to yourself means being your number one fan. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy, when we should really be our loudest cheerleader.

I love what Jon Acuff says:

“If other people talked to you the way that you talked to you, you wouldn’t have coffee with them.”

Word.

Being kind to yourself means telling yourself it’s okay. Life can be hard; it’s supposed to be hard at times. But the beauty of life is that it doesn’t have to stay that way. Don’t beat yourself up. Pull yourself up and keep on keeping on.

Being kind to yourself means not taking yourself too seriously or being offended. Be yourself, be fresh, be gracious. Live your truth while seeking to understand others truths.

Being kind to yourself means forgiving. Unforgiveness can cause an ugly weed to grow in our heart. Forgiving kills the weed and allows us to move on, flourish, and live the life we’re worthy of living.

Being kind to yourself means simply loving yourself. It’s easy to be kind to those you love. Therefore, when you love yourself, the kindness should flow.

“You have a unique gift to offer this world. Be true to yourself, be kind to yourself, read and learn about everything that interests you and keep away from people who bring you down. When you treat yourself kindly and respect the uniqueness of those around you, you will be giving this world an amazing gift… YOU!” – Steve Maraboli
