Delayed Doesn’t Mean Denied

Earlier this week I was talking to a beautiful wise lady in my world about life.

See, things haven’t gone entirely “to plan” this year. Life took a little detour + in many ways I felt like everything I was hoping for + working towards was being shut in my face + denied.

When talking to her, she said something that struck my core + hasn’t left my mind since [paraphrased]:

A cat is pregnant for 2 months + it produces a tiny kitten.

An elephant is pregnant for 2 years + it produces something that weighs a tonne.

It may feel like you’re being denied your promise/future/life/dream because others have received theirs faster. But what’s growing inside of you will produce a tonne – something much bigger.

You’re not being denied it… you’re just being delayed.

And I realised that the size of your dream determines the length of your preparation.

It’s important not to despise the journey that’s refining your character + what can seem like the “little details” in your life; it’s the “little things” that decide how we receive the bigger.

Whatever is happening in your world right now that doesn’t seem to make sense, take heart -

you’re not being denied it, you’re simply being delayed.
