“A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” [Charles H. Spurgeon]
Over the weekend my dad flew up to Sydney to visit his family for a couple of days. While there he discovered some very interesting information about our family…
Charles H. Spurgeon.
He is one of the most prolific preachers in Christian history. He was incredibly influential, preached to an estimated 10,000,000 people, + up to ten times a week at various locations in the 1800s. And at some point in your life, you will have read quotes by him. He’s phenomenal.
In 1865, my great great great (maybe another great?) grandparents were married by the legendary Charles H. Spurgeon. But more than that, they were the first couple Spurgeon married in the Metropolitan Tabernacle + had 4,000 people in attendance at the wedding ceremony.
Their Marriage Certificate:
Isn’t it funny the things you find out about your family line? (Haha).
Care to share one of your stories?
